I am my own Best Friend – Discussing Anxiety & More!
“We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies.” -Roderick Thorp (Beliefnet August 15, 2009)
MY DEAR: friends, associates, colleagues … and overall “brothers & sisters”,
Thank you for visiting me today at my home site here at Manifest Your Dreams. I’m so excited to bring you a warm, encouraging message today full of hope & inspiration. I am not perfect, for I am a sinner, but I will try my best to lead you down the road far less traveled. This is the narrow path which is full of so much more abundance and joy that not many people get to experience because they are full of fear, and don’t want to step out into the “unknown”. “Now it is baby steps” … Our whole life-long journey is FULL OF BABY STEPS! … so “Don’t worry” … “Don’t get ahead of yourself” … AND DON’T GET AHEAD OF GOD!!!
Today let me touch on the subject of “anxiety”. It’s the perfect time, because I have been dealing with this issue a bit myself lately. As some of you may know, I have a mental illness which includes GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I want to prove to you and the world that somebody (anybody & everyone) can overcome such an obstacle WITH GOD, and not with the usage of alcohol and drugs, which I’ve also had a problem with. (Remember, the first step to healing is to admit that you have a problem. Throughout my recovery I’ve learned not to hold things inside anymore.)
Anxiety can be described as constant fear of the unknown. Most of the time “clinically” it is unrealistic in nature such as the fear of Dying. Physical Symptoms accompany an attack (which for some “like me” can be on-going). Either way, it starts in the mind (like everything else). As my biological dad once told me, “The mind is a powerful tool and/or weapon”. As of matter fact, this is where we can use The Law of Attraction to our benefit. Or at least Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Self Hypnosis.
These are all ways to describe ONE THING. The action associated with controlling what happens in your emotions, thus actions, and then right back to beliefs, thoughts, emotions, actions …. And the cycle goes on and on! We are all inspired by different things. Doesn’t it feel wonderful when you hear a great joke and get a wonderful laugh from it? Or hear of somebody having a brand new beautiful baby. These are the things in life that will help us get out of the rut of negative thinking (which is Anxiety = negative thinking). These are the TRUE BEAUTIFUL THINGS IN LIFE!!!
You may not have a mental illness like myself and some others do, but nevertheless you do have worries & concerns. You do have stress. You do feel pain. Right now, I’m going to leave you with two simple messages.
1. You are not alone.
2. Be your own best friend. Not your own worst enemy.
Many Blessings at God Speed ~ Until Next Time,
Curt Bizelli
