When Curt Bizelli asked me to write a follow up article on anxiety my response was I can share my experience with anxiety, but I can’t tell someone how to overcome it, if I’m still struggling with it. This is not something I have perfected, but something that I can say I’ve experienced and I’m here to give encouragement to you.

Everyone at some point in their life has experienced an anxious feeling. Some may get anxious about a test they have coming up or maybe a job interview. There are some who may have experienced anxiety to the extreme. They may have been diagnosed with or have experienced symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or even Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). Others may have struggled with anxiety/ panic attacks.

I have experienced anxiety to the extreme and it’s still a weak area in my life. I’ve struggled with obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, social anxiety and anxiety/panic attacks. I started noticing compulsive behaviors/obsessive thoughts in myself in college. I noticed at home I would keep repeating tasks because of the anxious feeling I had and I wanted the ease from the feeling. The obsessive thoughts I’ve experienced turned into anxiety and panic attacks.

In the summer of 2008 was a very difficult time for me. I was struggling with both depression and anxiety. I thought I was going crazy. The obsessive thoughts and depression was causing me to have emotional breakdowns at home where I kept crying. I’ve been to Christian counseling and to the doctor before about what I had been experiencing. At one point I thought something was wrong with my heart, but now I know it was the attacks that were happening to me.

I believe there is still hope for anyone experiencing these things. There is a true living God that brings hope to us no matter what the situation is. God can speak peace to your mind and your life no matter the confusion that is going on within. It’s important that each and every one of us have a relationship with Jesus. He is the only one that can keep us from falling apart completely. If you feel like you are at your lowest Jesus is the only one that can truly pick you back up and bring healing and deliverance to you. Our healing and deliverance from the anxiety can only come from God. We must pray to God letting Him know our heart’s cry. God wants to hear from us, He doesn’t want us to turn away from Him, but turn to Him because He is the only one that can bring us through.

Also, reading and studying the Word is important during this challenge. We can look up scriptures on worry, anxious, healing and peace etc and meditate on them. It may seem like this is the end and things can’t get better, but I encourage you to hang in there and draw near to God. God is able and willing to heal and deliver, but we have to trust Him no matter how things look.

We have all encountered time so sadness in our life, but is it true that depression is really so much more than that? Absolutely. I’ve dealt with myself because it runs in my genes. My new good friend and business associate, Stephanie Woods speaks out below about her real life encounter with depression and offers a little bit of insight into letting the light back in.

Depression has a way of sneaking up on me like it has so often in the past. I spent a long time in that dark place unable to see a way out. It is difficult to describe to someone who has never experienced it. I felt so utterly isolated. For me it came out of no where at a time when I was a young wife and mother. Life was supposed to be treating me well. Why did I feel like crawling into bed and never coming out? At an all time low, I locked myself in the bathroom after putting the kids to bed and cut my wrists a little bit. I say a little bit because they were no where near fatal wounds. But they were an outward expression of the pain I was feeling. My husband came home from work shortly after I did this and called 911. Being unhappy by myself was bad enough but going through psych evaluations through the ER…even worse. Their intentions were well meaning but I felt even more alone there than before. There was nothing they could do to fix me. I knew I needed help so I reached out a lot in the months following this incident. It was the hardest thing I have ever done because I didn’t want help but knew I needed it. Talking to people was the last thing that I wanted to do but it was necessary. I reached out to friends, church family, counselors, support groups, anyone who would listen. I believe that God put the right people on the receiving end of those calls. It didn’t happen in an instant but eventually things started to seem a little brighter and my world didn’t seem so dark and cold. I still struggle at times with depression. It rears its ugly head quite often in my life. But I know that for me it means darkness and as soon as I recognize it, I do what I can to let light in.

“I can do all things through Christ whom Strengthens me”

Good Morning Friends,

I wanted to give another update of hope & encouragement. As some of you know, I fell back into some old, bad habits … yet God delivered me yet again! Isn’t that great? Knowing that no matter what we do, no matter how short we fall compared to the Glory of God, He will ALWAYS, never fail in accepting us as we are.

I have an important message for you this morning. Just like the scripture says above, All things are possible with God. In our own flesh we fall short, are sinners and are not capable of all things, but when we turn to a higher power which is something so much greater than ourselves and hand over our will, our wants and our desires … He will bless us beyond belief. He will make us capable. He will wash away the sins and He will even give your desires back to you. YES! It also states in biblical scripture, “I shall be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him in the next” … it also states (look these up on www.BibleGateway.com so you know these are from The Lord). It also states, “Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart.” He doesn’t say needs. That is a given! He is like a dad except so much greater. He cares for His children. That’s why we calle Him  the Heavenly Father.

Yes! He wants us to be happy, He wants our DESIRES to be met, but just like a FATHER, He ultimately wants the best for us. Sometimes your will doesn’t align with what He wants for your life (and doesn’t the parent always win)

My calling in life (and you could call it a Supreme Mission Statement) is to make a difference by assisting you finding your God given purpose in Life. No matter whether I call myself a Publicist or a “movie junkie’” … one thing will always be infinite and come first, and if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, the same goes for you. I AM A CHILD OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!

This phrase coined by the notorious Joel Osteen (even though I do not agree with all of his ways) has helped me through so many troubles in my life. It makes me think of the scripture that states, “If God be for me, who shall be against me” … Understand the power of God, my friends. I yearn to get to know Him more and more everyday, and I urge you to “consider” doing the same.

BUT REMEMBER: God is not there to give you everything you want even though that’s what your beliefs aka Law of Attraction, etc. might state. Like I said before, HE WILL! but just like scripture states, you must FIRST delight yourself in HIM.

God is more than a Genie.

God is “more than everything” …

He said say, “I Am sent you for I am the God of your ancestors, The God of Isaac, The God of Jacob, The God of Abraham. I am Who Was, Who Is and Always Will Be” – The Alpha, The Omega, The Beginning and Thee End.

You can leave a comment if you like, but my main call to action for you this morning is to find yourself not in this world which includes yourself, but in Him (God) who is far greater than you could ever imagine.

Hey Ladies & Gents, (there’s a surprise at the end) !!!

I don’t have really anything valuable today except remember to outsource the tasks that you’re not as good at in order to free up some of your time. I’m working on this now. This blog is under-going some maintenance as you can probably tell by the NEW Navigation and “Coming Soon” pages.

I appreciate your patience. Much Value to come on these pages in the near future. Remember, If you want something bad enough, you’ll get it. AHA! 

YA KNOW WHAT??? … I do have something for you. I can’t leave you hanging.

I said, “If you want something bad enough, You WILL get it” .. well 3-4 months ago, I just KNEW that I had to start getting in shape. This is a personal development success story. When I was younger I was always thin, taking up sports and weight training I was a “fit lady’s man” … then the home based biz kicked in … and sitting on my #ss for 17 hours per day working caused me to turn into a FORKLIFT!

My starting stats:

224.6 lb.

26% body fat

My “Now” stats:

195 lb.

20% body fat

… and I’m not done yet .. Don’t worry I’m not trying to sell you some Juice or Potion. I used no other supplements other than your good ole’ whey protein, energy drinks, coffee (hmm), and the occasional slim fast.

What did I do?

I GOT SERIOUS ABOUT IT! I started in my mind … then I conceived it.

“What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill

I call it the COMMON SENSE DIET! Here are a couple QUICK tips! (WARNING: This seems to be really difficult for most Americans to Grasp) …

• Move More

I was going through some old papers in my filing cabinet like I need to do more often and I ran across this very thought provoking short story in which I’m going to share with you.

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. she did not recognize them. she said “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.”

“Is the man of the house home?” they asked.

“No”, she replied. “He’s out.”

“Then we cannot come in”, they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what  had happened.

“Go tell them I am home and invite them in!”

The woman went out and invited the men in.

“We do not go into a house together,” they replied.

“Why is that?” she asked.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?”

Their daughter in law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“Let us heed our daughter in law’s advice,” said the husband to his wife.

“Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the three old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.”

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?”

The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is LOVE, there is ALSO Wealth and Success!!!”

As we begin to part from 2010 and enter a new decade Beginning with 2011, the way we’ve been conditioned forces us to pause and reflect on the past year, past decade … or you may be looking back over your entire life. What were some cherished memories? Where did I go wrong? … these are logical questions to be asking yourself, however the most fundamental question that everybody on this earth needs to answer is What can I do NOW to improve upon myself, my life and business?

These times are a favorite of mine because I love to think. I’m not the type of man to do things spontaneously too often; not anymore anyways I do occasionally; it feels good to let loose and get a little mud on the tires from “time to time” but I really like to think. Sometimes it has even gotten me in trouble. You know what I mean? I’ll start thinking something negative and before long it consumes me in fear.
Perhaps this is something I can work on in 2011. I know there are many things I can work on, however I’ll stick to just a couple for now, and you should too, because you don’t want to overburden yourself. God wouldn’t do it, so neither should you.

I know a story of a man that took all of our burdens away by being nailed to a tree. Its True! It went down in history with Witnesses! “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart for I have overcome the world” – Jesus (John 16:33) … The point is you’ll never be able to make enough “New Years Resolutions” to bring glory to whomever you choose to call God. You will always fall short. He is perfect in every way, therefore it is impossible for us, being human to live up to His expectations. That is what is so merciful and great in Christ, My Lord.

Nevertheless, I’m not saying, Don’t Try!

“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” – Proverbs 10:4

Part of being human is to not only Realize You Won’t Be Perfect and “Take failures as a stepping stone to success” but also take those steps, and take them in faith.
