“I can do all things through Christ whom Strengthens me”

Good Morning Friends,

I wanted to give another update of hope & encouragement. As some of you know, I fell back into some old, bad habits … yet God delivered me yet again! Isn’t that great? Knowing that no matter what we do, no matter how short we fall compared to the Glory of God, He will ALWAYS, never fail in accepting us as we are.

I have an important message for you this morning. Just like the scripture says above, All things are possible with God. In our own flesh we fall short, are sinners and are not capable of all things, but when we turn to a higher power which is something so much greater than ourselves and hand over our will, our wants and our desires … He will bless us beyond belief. He will make us capable. He will wash away the sins and He will even give your desires back to you. YES! It also states in biblical scripture, “I shall be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him in the next” … it also states (look these up on www.BibleGateway.com so you know these are from The Lord). It also states, “Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart.” He doesn’t say needs. That is a given! He is like a dad except so much greater. He cares for His children. That’s why we calle Him  the Heavenly Father.

Yes! He wants us to be happy, He wants our DESIRES to be met, but just like a FATHER, He ultimately wants the best for us. Sometimes your will doesn’t align with what He wants for your life (and doesn’t the parent always win)

My calling in life (and you could call it a Supreme Mission Statement) is to make a difference by assisting you finding your God given purpose in Life. No matter whether I call myself a Publicist or a “movie junkie’” … one thing will always be infinite and come first, and if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, the same goes for you. I AM A CHILD OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!

This phrase coined by the notorious Joel Osteen (even though I do not agree with all of his ways) has helped me through so many troubles in my life. It makes me think of the scripture that states, “If God be for me, who shall be against me” … Understand the power of God, my friends. I yearn to get to know Him more and more everyday, and I urge you to “consider” doing the same.

BUT REMEMBER: God is not there to give you everything you want even though that’s what your beliefs aka Law of Attraction, etc. might state. Like I said before, HE WILL! but just like scripture states, you must FIRST delight yourself in HIM.

God is more than a Genie.

God is “more than everything” …

He said say, “I Am sent you for I am the God of your ancestors, The God of Isaac, The God of Jacob, The God of Abraham. I am Who Was, Who Is and Always Will Be” – The Alpha, The Omega, The Beginning and Thee End.

You can leave a comment if you like, but my main call to action for you this morning is to find yourself not in this world which includes yourself, but in Him (God) who is far greater than you could ever imagine.

If I asked you, what is your most fundamental concern in life, what would be your answer?

You might answer “Oh, my children and family are my life, and my most important concern” – wrong!

You may answer, “My career is the most fundamental concern of my life” – wrong!

You may even answer “Helping others is my primary interest in life, this is why I was born into this world” – again wrong!

These are all very worthy causes for existing but they mask the real fundamental concern in your own life, yourself.

To most, admitting that your primary interest in life is yourself, seems wrong, narcissistic and selfish but isn’t denying the truth worse?

Let’s go over the answers:

My children and family are my life

My children and my family are my primary concern in life – well the real answer lies hidden within this statement, ‘my’ children and ‘my’ family. Of course you may love and want the best for your children and family, but look at why you chose to have children and a family in the first place.

You chose to have children and a family to satisfy your own need or want. You didn’t sit there one day and think, “Hmmm, I would like to have kids because there is an unborn child waiting to come into this world who will need a parent” or “I really need to get on with structuring a family, because there is a person out there (my soul mate) who needs one, and who also feels there is an unborn child waiting, in need of parents”.

You wanted to have children and a family to satisfy your own want or need for that child or family. What you really wanted was satisfaction for yourself; you were looking out for number one.

My career is the most fundamental concern of my life

This one is a little easier to grasp in terms of admitting you are the primary benefactor of such an answer.

In holding your career as the most fundamental concern in your life, are you admitting that you crave the position in society your career can give you? Does this career give you the respect you feel you deserve and the standing in society which has others recognising your greatness and prestige?

You’re seeking recognition for the purposes of being seen to be powerful or outstanding in some way in your chosen field and therefore in society. All non-selfless reasons, meaning you’re looking out for number one.

Helping others is my primary interest in life

Can you see that by wanting to help others you are still satisfying your own need? You may be compelled to help others because you feel it’s a worthy thing to do with your life, it may be born of tradition or ideology, or you may just enjoy the feeling you get when you reach out to people.

Either way you are still satisfying your own needs and wants by helping others, it brings you a wonderful feeling of satisfaction, so you’re being driven by satisfying yourself, you are looking out for number one.

Does True Selflessness Exist?

Take a volunteer of a very worthy cause, they offer their time, with no financial payment, to the cause of their choice.

This would seem like a truly selfless act upon which they would be seen as a selfless giver with no interest in gain for them self.

However, to sustain their interest in volunteering they must be ‘getting something out of it’. So what is it they gain from such a seemingly selfless act?

They may gain self-esteem, self confidence, worthiness, feeling they are needed or any other number of emotional ‘payoffs’ which motivated them to volunteer in the first place.

We look out for ourselves first and foremost, and this can be seen in all aspects of our lives.

We don’t enter into relationships with our partners because of the happiness it will fulfil in them; we enter into relationships because of the good feelings, well being and happiness it fulfils in us.

We don’t have friends because we are concerned there are people in the world who need friends, we have them because being friends with certain people offer us something we are looking for, be that human connection, a sympathetic ear or someone we can relate to.

Even giving to charity gives us a redeemable feeling of well being, which we cash in as soon as we flick that coin into the collection tin.

There are tales of acts in crisis which could be interpreted as pure acts of selflessness, for example, a family which harbours a Jewish person during the German occupation in WW2, effectively putting their own lives at risk to help another human being.

Or people who relinquish their own lives to save another, whilst a disaster ensues around them, making the ultimate sacrifice.

These would seem like truly selfless acts and of course they may be just that. In times of life altering circumstances we are often not given the choices we have in usual day to day life. We have to react to the conditions around us at that time, so is this when true selflessness can exist?

Is Selfishness So Bad?

I can see that few acts are truly selfless, there is always a selfish connotation to most decisions we make, so, would it be so bad to recognise this fact and openly state it.

I think it would show honesty we rarely see from people, as I don’t believe looking out for yourself is a bad thing.

Creating a balance of selfishness and selflessness is, in my eyes, the only way to be congruent with our true selves and the world around us. Stating that you show no signs of selfishness is not only incorrect, you are lying to yourself.

There exists a selfish – selfless scale we are all on, sliding to far one way gives you the title of being considered a selfish person by others, sliding the other way gives you the altruistic title. Selfishness exists, whether accepted or not, so embrace it, recognise it and don’t feel bad about it.

We all want our own needs met, and having them met by trading off is one way we accomplish this. Ensuring a healthy balance of giving and taking is normal, so next time you give selflessly think about what you are gaining in return.

Maybe we should try and ignore the negative undertone in the word selfish, and see it for what it is, a natural component of our daily lives.

I was going through some old papers in my filing cabinet like I need to do more often and I ran across this very thought provoking short story in which I’m going to share with you.

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. she did not recognize them. she said “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.”

“Is the man of the house home?” they asked.

“No”, she replied. “He’s out.”

“Then we cannot come in”, they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what  had happened.

“Go tell them I am home and invite them in!”

The woman went out and invited the men in.

“We do not go into a house together,” they replied.

“Why is that?” she asked.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?”

Their daughter in law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“Let us heed our daughter in law’s advice,” said the husband to his wife.

“Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the three old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.”

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?”

The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is LOVE, there is ALSO Wealth and Success!!!”

As we begin to part from 2010 and enter a new decade Beginning with 2011, the way we’ve been conditioned forces us to pause and reflect on the past year, past decade … or you may be looking back over your entire life. What were some cherished memories? Where did I go wrong? … these are logical questions to be asking yourself, however the most fundamental question that everybody on this earth needs to answer is What can I do NOW to improve upon myself, my life and business?

These times are a favorite of mine because I love to think. I’m not the type of man to do things spontaneously too often; not anymore anyways I do occasionally; it feels good to let loose and get a little mud on the tires from “time to time” but I really like to think. Sometimes it has even gotten me in trouble. You know what I mean? I’ll start thinking something negative and before long it consumes me in fear.
Perhaps this is something I can work on in 2011. I know there are many things I can work on, however I’ll stick to just a couple for now, and you should too, because you don’t want to overburden yourself. God wouldn’t do it, so neither should you.

I know a story of a man that took all of our burdens away by being nailed to a tree. Its True! It went down in history with Witnesses! “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart for I have overcome the world” – Jesus (John 16:33) … The point is you’ll never be able to make enough “New Years Resolutions” to bring glory to whomever you choose to call God. You will always fall short. He is perfect in every way, therefore it is impossible for us, being human to live up to His expectations. That is what is so merciful and great in Christ, My Lord.

Nevertheless, I’m not saying, Don’t Try!

“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” – Proverbs 10:4

Part of being human is to not only Realize You Won’t Be Perfect and “Take failures as a stepping stone to success” but also take those steps, and take them in faith.

Wow Wow Wow!

Hi y’all,

Its been one heck of a month and I apologize for going this long without blogging. It is totally UNLIKE ME! I won’t give excuses or anything of that sort. I’ll only accept responsibility and thank you for still viewing my blog and remaining a loyal reader and contributor.

Well, My B-Day was Friday the 17th. I turned 26, and I had an excellent time off. That’s something I usually do not do (is take time off)! Even within this last month I’ve been putting hard work into other projects outside of this blog. I’m always busy doing something and I LOVE IT! Didn’t expect that did you? Yeah! I love what I do.

So I took some time off for my b-day (friday & part of saturday). I learned a valuable lesson:

Sometimes we get in a comfort zone. In my case it was “work” 24/7 … But the lesson is this … no matter what … always find time to do other things you love TOO! Even if your comfort zone makes you entirely happy, still step out of that zone and truly find time for yourself and “something new”. I almost didn’t know what to do at first, but I soon embarked on an adventure that WAS GREAT IN THE END! … Now I’m back to doing what I love (In God’s Time, I made it back to this blog to give you this message) …

I was blown away by the amount of “HAPPY BIRTHDAY’s” I received on Facebook and Skype. You would have had to click “Older Posts” at the bottom of my Facebook Wall about FOUR times (“at least”) in order to see all of them. WOW! There are so many new faces to connect with also. I can’t wait to GET ON THAT TASK!!!

What is the difference between Money Conscious and Money Driven?

Let me inform you of a “great fact” … The Fact is that There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between being Money Conscious and Money Driven. This should ease your mind when it comes to losing compassion while obtaining material riches in this secular lifetime.

Let us take a look at the definitions of ‘Conscious” as well as “Driven” so we do in fact have some facts to base this upon:

DEFINE: Conscious:
intentionally conceived; “a conscious effort to speak more slowly”; “a conscious policy” knowing and perceiving; having awareness of surroundings and sensations and thoughts; “remained conscious during the operation”; “conscious of his faults”; “became conscious that he was being followed”

DEFINE: Driven:
compelled forcibly by an outside agency; “mobs goaded by blind hatred” urged or forced to action through moral pressure; “felt impelled to take a stand against the issue” compulsive: strongly motivated to succeed

NOW THESE TWO DEFINITIONS …
… speak multitudes of enlightenment to me:
1. Consciousness is simply being “aware” … and …
2. Driven is in fact taking it a step further with the “consciousness” (if you may) depending upon “morals”, “strong force”, and “compulsion”.

I’ve been listening to “Think and Grow Rich” audios over and over again for the past few months and Napoleon Hill speaks of such thing as “Money Conscious” and goes on to state it is crucial to one’s success. This is in fact what made me research these terms and dig a little deeper, because …

“I am not Money Driven”, was the first thing I though to myself. “I am Passionately Driven to Help Others” … That’s when I discovered that these terms, “Conscious” and “Driven” are two entirely different entities.

Napoleon Hill said that “One must be money conscious”, but HE DID NOT SAY, “Money Driven” … This leads me to this conclusion:

In business or whatever you choose to do in life, its crucial to be conscious of “what you want in terms of material possessions” and it is crucial “to see  yourself obtaining those riches” however you must have a DEEPER, inner, impelled, compulsive desire based off of your morals for helping others or fulfilling some deeper passionate purpose OVER the “consciousness” of acquiring money.

As easy as learning how to control the law of attraction sounds, it might prove to be a little bit challenging for some. There are small obstacles that can keep you from channeling the energy correctly. Below are some ways you can get over them.

1) Focus On The Positive.

When learning how to control the law of attraction, you have to avoid negativity and focus on the positive sides of every situation. When you find yourself drowning in doubt, immediately “cancel” negative thoughts out and replace them with positive ones.

The law of attraction, or any new idea for that matter, has the tendency to attract any thoughts (for the person involved). You’ll have to make a conscious effort to avoid negativity, for that alone will render the law of attraction useless.

2) Meditate.

Meditation helps keep your mind at peace. No disturbing thoughts. No negativity. No jumping off from one idea to another.

Concentration holds the key to using the law of attraction. Without it, your focus will crumble and so will your hold on attracting what you want.

3) Practice.

Learning how to control the law of attraction takes practice as well. If you’re not in tune with yourself and with the universe, then don’t be surprised when you’re finding it difficult to get into it.

But don’t go into it expecting failure either. The best thing you can do is to believe and not give up when your expectations fall short.

Learning how to control the law of attraction is challenging because we’re forced to not do what our habits tell us to. If you’re used to doubting ideas, you’ll have to learn to embrace them. If your mind is disorganized, you’re going to have to straighten it out. If you give up too easily, well… then maybe the law of attraction isn’t for you [to practice].
