I believe it was my second blog post that was about “being genuine” … I’m following up on that! I truly wish to express REAL-NESS throughout this entire blog and provide PURE HONESTY to my readers for you are what makes this blog come alive and you deserve NOTHING LESS! I write for YOU, not me! (let’s make that clear). This is why I write about topics such as this. There is so much out there on the internet about PEAK Personal Development, but not enough for those “just truly beginning”. This is WHY you’ll see discussions on Mental Illness & Substance Abuse. Of course, I am enlightened so I will talk about the higher stages of personal development as well, but In this particular blog post, I would like to discuss what God is putting on my heart to write about. Again, FOR YOU! It’s so easy for us to get caught up in our everyday lives of wanting to be rich and famous, succeeding, blah blah blah, that we completely forget that there REALLY ARE such thing as Rehab Centers. There REALLY IS such thing as Alcoholic Anonymous, and there REALLY IS such thing as people suffering from substance abuse. There REALLY ARE people dying from their own addictions that they really can’t control. They have no power over until they surrender. As they say in AA, “Alcohol is Cunning, Baffling, and Powerful” (same goes for other addictions) and … the only way to conquer it is to admit defeat to a higher power which can relieve the bondage of self because people “of the like” are constantly wanting to “run the show”. How do I know so much about this? I have BEEN THERE! Today, I have been sober for 1 month (today), and all we have is 24 hours. As a matter of fact, this blog symbolizes my recovery (in a metaphorical way), because it was started around the time that I quit drinking seeking a bigger purpose for my life. And I truly feel that “My Purpose” is to assist others (you), help others (you) in whatever way I can to achieve your passions, dreams, and your true purpose in life. This is my new beginning and my way to GIVE BACK for all I’ve taken! To the average person, 1 month (30 days) doesn’t sound like much, but to an addict, just think, it means so much! I praise God for relieving me of the bondage of self and allowing me to open up this blog so that I can reach out to others! The primary objective of this blog post is not to “bring down” but to “lift up” … I want you to be encouraged by the fact that so many people live outstanding lives after giving up their addictions. If you’d like to tell your story (testimony) or talk to me one on one about Substance Abuse, feel free to call me 24/7 at 615-686-2029 I am hear to assist anyone! |
